Filming for DR’s popular TV series Carmen Curlers from the 1960s is taking place in one of Utzon’s courtyard houses from the same period.
DR’s successful drama series Carmen Curlers moved into the Fredensborg houses – at least while filming for DR’s third season of the drama series is underway. DR is currently filming the third season of the series about the visionary entrepreneur Axel and the creation of Carmen Curlers, the small electric curlers that achieved huge popularity in the 1960s and became Denmark’s largest workplace.
The Fredensborg Houses were built by the renowned Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1962-63 and today stand as a memorial to our unique architectural heritage. It is therefore a great honour that Utzon’s unique courtyard houses are now part of a drama series about a piece of contemporary Danish history. We have, of course, immortalised the moment, where you can see the beautiful cars from when the residents of the Fredensborg Houses were young. For many residents, it was a joyful reunion.
