Fredensborg Houses Set the Stage for 50 Years of Royal Friendship

On Friday, 30 May 2025, the Fredensborg Houses received a distinguished visitor when HRH Princess Benedikte stopped by to mark the 50th anniversary of the friendship between Fredensborg Municipality and Bad Berleburg in Germany.

Around 60 guests gathered for dinner and celebrations in the beautiful surroundings of the Fredensborg Houses. The event began with a welcome at the centre building, where the participants – including the mayor of Bad Berleburg, representatives of the town council and administration, and the German ambassador to Denmark – were welcomed.

When Princess Benedikte arrived at 6 p.m., she was welcomed at the centre building, where she greeted several of the guests before a brief introduction to the Fredensborg Houses set the scene for the evening. The architecture, residents and special history of the houses were described. The programme then continued in the Saxild Hall, where dinner was served and guests had the opportunity to socialise.

The day was a wonderful celebration of the long-standing and friendly cooperation between Fredensborg and Bad Berleburg, and not least a reminder of how culture, history and community continue to bind people together across borders.
